Jul. 25th, 2009 08:11 pmAll right everyone, this is the post that you have been waiting for! (and it was just eaten by my stupid computer, so I'm retyping this because I love you guys and I love the Fort). I've been talking about my job quite a bit lately, you see. This post is for all of those who don't live in Edmonton but would like to learn more about how awesome Fort Edmonton Historical Park and living history museums are in general. :3
The park is divided into five distinct "eras", which are thus: Fort Edmonton (depicting the city's origins as a Hudson's Bay Company Fur Trading Post), 1885 st (growing urban population of 300-ish), 1905 st (the coming of the railway, streetcars and telephone lines), 1920s street (postwar modernity) and the 1926 Johnny J. Jones Midway (where I work as a carnie). We aren't allowed to "time warp" (i.e.: crossover
eras) except under specific circumstances (like George from the 1920s Motordrome driving his 1904 car onto 1905 st.).
One post cannot contain the awesomeness that is Fort Edmonton, so I shall continue here.
