So yay I've finished exams! :DD Now I can focus on wasting my time  watching anime/Korean dramas, writing fanfiction, and cleaning my room! :D I think that I did fairly well on all of them... I'm just happy that I finally got through that one take home exam (two essays to be written over the course of four days, on the nature of history). But it's all over and done with! :D

Oh, and it snowed for four days straight, as everyone seems to know... but it stopped today! :D yay! ... and then I look out the window, and yep, you've guessed it, it's started up again. D: Isn't it crazy that I'm technically on summer vacation, and yet it looks more like Christmas break outside?

And I'm definitely going to France this summer! :D And the Japan Expo, in Paris! ... which means that I've got to get working on my costume for the anime festival...

(I like the second one, personally.)

Yay for exams being over! Don't worry about wasting time watching anime/Korean dramas - you can relax now! :3

And France~! Yay, take lots of pictures, okay?

I do indeed like the name "Ayumu", although I'm very amused by my full name - it sounds deep. XD I love "Saruwatari", though. "monkey on a crossing bridge"... where do they come up with such things? Apparently, "Markewicz" is just a really fancy polish way of saying "child of Mark". D: Is there any meaning to "Foxcroft"?

That makes sense - a lot of names are like that - take "Johnson" or "O'Leary" or something like that. :)

I looked mine up once - the etymology:
A "croft" is "a small farm, especially a tenant farm" or "a small enclosed field or pasture near a house."
So I'm guessing, quite literally, a "fox croft"? ;p (It's English, by the way)

Interesting! :D (I could tell it was English. ;) ) What does Cassidy mean?

Cassidy:

From an Irish surname which was derived from Ó Caiside meaning "descendent of Caiside". The given name Caiside means "curly haired", from Gaelic cas.

Alternately, it can mean "clever", but either way, it's still of Irish/Gaelic origin.

Curly haired/clever... better than a mere "decoration" like me. D:

Lauren means "decoration"?

From: [identity profile] beboots.livejournal.com
"Lauren" comes from "laurel" (as in the plant/flower), which means "garland", a kind of decoration. See, I'm not crazy! I do have a line of reasoning! ;)

Plainly there is not much creativity going on. XDDD

Korean dramas? Interesting! I think the only Korean drama I know of is Da Changjin (and that's the Chinese-ized name; ummm, the one with the woman trying to be one of the court cooks, then became a scholar? I heard it was a hugely successful drama).

Summer vacation and snow... that's just so strange. XD

Did you end up finding info for your Sai costume? :)

Da Changjin sounds really cool! ... Do you know where I could find a copy? ;) Right now, I'm going to start watching "The Palace", which my sister is obsessed with. Essentially, it takes place in an alternate Korea which is still under a constitutional monarchy, and this schoolgirl gets to marry a prince against her will... and of course they eventually grow to love each other. It's adorable, from the clips that I've seen.

Yep, I have! :D Thank you for your help, by the way. I'm going to be taking my measurements today, and I'll see about popping by Fabricland or something this week to pic up some materials for it. :) My mother has promised to help, too. :D I'm not sure how long it will take, but when it's finished, I'll definitely send you photos!

Okay, the Korean name for it is Dae Jang Geum. I'm not sure about where to get copies--one of my friends had the series on DVD (she got it in China, I think) and I'd watch it sometimes at her house--but maybe you could Video Google it? Or check veoh.com? Usually those are good ways to find episodes. ;) And ohh, The Palace sounds very interesting. :D

I look forward to the photos! :)

The Palace IS interesting. :3 I've watched the first episode, and it's both hilarious and touching. Oh, and thank you for the title - I'll see if I can find it on Veoh! :D

Once you brought up Dae Jang Geum, I ended up wanting to watch it again--one person on YouTube uploaded all the episodes here. :) Haha, I'm watching it right now. There are 60-something episodes in the entire series--I really like it. Jang Geum (the main character's name) was the first female royal physician in Korea, apparently.
