Hello, all, from the land across the water! :D I am sincerely sorry for not posting anything as of yet. Unfortunately, this has to be a short post, because I have about ten minutes to write this, and I have to eat at the same time. D: The reason I have not posted just yet is because I haven't gotten the internet in my dorm set up just yet - I'm apparently in the only dorm that does not have wireless, so I need a cord, which I shall get on Monday. I thank you, Yan, for letting me use your laptop! :D (I could just use the computers in the computer lab, but unfortunately they all have French keybords (isn't that bizzare? French keyboards! In France! ;) ) and they're just different enough that it would take ages to painstakingly type out anything. D:
Anyway, I have safely arrived in France. We had two days to wander around Lille, getting a feel for the place, and one day of "welcoming" and placement tests. Today is my first day of classes. I shall give all of the details of my travails thus far in the next post! (Hopefully on Monday). Lille is a gorgeous city, and I have taken hundreds of photos so far. :) I have also met quite a few people (not all of them Canadian, not all of them in my group). Plus, the food here is awesome, and the architecture gorgeous.
This weekend, Yan and I are planning on going to Paris (leaving mid-morning, so we don't have to pay for two nights in Paris, and so we can visit the Saturday morning market in Lille).
Oh, and I have tried to call you several times, mother dearest, but I've only gotten voicemail/answering machines. ;_; It's easiest for me to call when it's early in the morning for you, so is there a time that I can call your cell phone and talk to you in person? Like, between 5:45am and whenever you leave for work, or something? Please, mum, can you post (even anonymously), here, with the times (Edmonton time) that I could call you?
I miss you, everyone! I shall post more in detail as soon as I can!
